About CBD for women, menstruations (PMS) and menopause
Many women have to deal with symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) during their reproductive years, and menopause in later years. For both of these conditions, the underlying cause of most of the symptoms is due to an imbalance in female hormones like progesterone and estrogen.
Common symptoms of PMS include:
Swollen and/or tender breasts
Lower abdominal cramping & pain
Mood swings and/or feeling irritable, angry or hostile
Feeling tense, anxious, sad or depressed and can include crying spells
Problems with sleeping which can include either too much or too little
Common symptoms of Menopause include:
Irregular and eventual lack of periods
Hot flashes & night sweats
How does CBD help women with menstruations (PMS) and menopause
The hemp plant’s cannabinoids in general (incl. tetrahydrocannabinol or THC) as well as cannabidiol (CBD) in particular have potential health benefits for women, with little to no side-effects. Scientists hypothesize that the balancing, analgesic, anxiolytic and anti-inflammatory properties of CBD are helpful in treating the underlying causes of many of the symptoms common in both PMS and menopause. The benefits of CBD for women, whether in the form of CBD oil, hemp oil or other hemp extracts, are promising although none of the results have been supported by clinical trials to date, whether in the United States or in any other country. CBD is delivering is helping with women’s health through:
1) Its ability to regulate the endocannabinoid system (ECS)
CBD creates a state of balance within the body by interacting with the ECS and its receptors, helping to reduce many of the symptoms characteristic of PMS and menopause.
3) Its ability to regulate sleep
